Abstract:

The dataset includes magnetic inversion results and high-resolution magnetic scan data of a 30µm thick section of a sample from Modum, Norway. The sample contains large magnetite grains (>100 µm) surrounded by serpentine and carbonate and exhibits a clear multi-domain behavior. Inversion of the data provided an estimation of the fine-scale magnetization of the sample. The dataset contains also inversion results on synthetic magnetic data.
