Electron attachment to MSP, \nwhich charges MSP negatively, reduces the electron density in the height regions where MSP are more abundant. There is less absorption of radio wave \nenergy in the height regions with reduced electron density, which leads to an increased electron temperature within and above the height regions with\nreduced electron density. \nMost noteworthy features: We model the heated electron temperature with an electron density from a simple one-dimensional ionospheric model, \ndeveloped by Carsten Baumann (see Baumann et al. 2013), which includes MSP as charge carriers. For access to the electron densities, \nsee: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5668081\nDevelopment status: Finished. \nKey concepts: Ionospheric heating, numerical modelling, Ohmic heating in D-region, meteoric smoke particles.","citation:dsDescriptionDate":"2021-11-15"},"title":"Code for: Modelling the influence of meteoric smoke particles on artificial heating in the D-region","relatedDatasets":"Electron density data: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5668081","kindOfData":"MATLAB code","dateOfDeposit":"2021-11-15","subject":"Physics","citation:depositor":"Myrvang, Margaretha","language":"English","@id":"https://doi.org/10.18710/D4REDW","@type":["ore:Aggregation","schema:Dataset"],"schema:version":"1.1","schema:name":"Code for: Modelling the influence of meteoric smoke particles on artificial heating in the D-region","schema:dateModified":"Thu Sep 28 21:48:04 GMT 2023","schema:datePublished":"2021-11-16","schema:license":"http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0","dvcore:fileTermsOfAccess":{"dvcore:fileRequestAccess":true},"schema:includedInDataCatalog":"DataverseNO","schema:isPartOf":{"schema:name":"UiT The Arctic University of Norway","@id":"https://dataverse.no/dataverse/uit","schema:description":"Looking for TROLLing?
