This dataset includes raw multibeam echosounder data collected on-board R/V Helmer Hanssen during the CAGE 17-2 AMGG cruise to the Olga Basin, northern Barents Sea between June 21st to July 3rd, 2017. Data were collected using a Kongsberg Simrad EM302 multibeam echosounder system. The nominal sonar frequency of the sound waves is 30 kHz with an angular coverage sector of up to 150° and 432 beams per ping. The system was typically used with a 60°/60° opening angle.

The dataset comprises Kongsberg bathymetry files, as well as water column data files and sound velocity profiles gathered from 8 CTD casts. Water column data collection was not continuous during the cruise, for example during transits between study areas.
