Pressure was applied using SIMLab Shock Tube Facility at the Department of Structural Engineering, NTNU specialized on blast wave generation.
Deflectometry was used to measure time-resolved slope changes on the plate surface.
Background Oriented Schlieren was used to visualize the approaching blast wave.
The shock tube exit was modified with 3 different blockages to change the symmetry of the generated blast waves.

Pressure transducer measurements were conducted to compare the VM pressure reconstructions to an established technique.

This dataset contains the experimental data acquired during the blast tests on the steel plate.
</dcterms:description><dcterms:subject>Engineering</dcterms:subject><dcterms:subject>Physics</dcterms:subject><dcterms:subject>blast loading</dcterms:subject><dcterms:subject>virtual fields</dcterms:subject><dcterms:subject>method</dcterms:subject><dcterms:subject>pressure reconstruction</dcterms:subject><dcterms:language>English</dcterms:language><dcterms:isReferencedBy>Olufsen, S, Kaufmann, R, Fagerholt, E, Aune, V, (2021) Recolo: A python package for the reconstruction of surface pressure loads from kinematic fields using the virtual fields method, Journal of Open Source Software 6 (67) 3869., doi, 10.21105/joss.03980, https://doi.org/10.21105/joss.03980</dcterms:isReferencedBy><dcterms:isReferencedBy>Kaufmann, R., Olufsen, S.
