These consist of 853 pools/reservoirs/cisterns, 1061 small wells, 119 large wells and 203 springs, and represent a complete coverage of the study area. Data is presented in Keyhole Markup Language-format for direct usage, refinement and editing in most GIS-software.
<sumDscr><timePrd cycle="P1" event="start" date="1980">1980</timePrd><timePrd cycle="P1" event="end" date="1980">1980</timePrd><nation>Syrian Arab Republic</nation><nation>Iraq</nation><nation>Jordan</nation><geogCover>Syrian Desert</geogCover><geogCover>Syrian Desert</geogCover><geogCover>Syrian Desert</geogCover><geogUnit>desert</geogUnit><geoBndBox><westBL>35.50</westBL><eastBL>45.00</eastBL><southBL>31.33</southBL><northBL>36.00</northBL></geoBndBox><dataKind>GIS-data</dataKind></sumDscr></stdyInfo><method><dataColl><sources><dataSrc>Glavnoye Upravleniye Geodezji i Kartografii 1:200 000, GUGK, Moscow, 1980, quadrants h36-06, h37-01-06, h38 01-03, i36-36, i37-03, 04, 07-11, 13-36, i38-13, 19, 20, 25, 26, 31-33.</dataSrc></sources></dataColl><anlyInfo/></method><dataAccs><setAvail/><useStmt/><notes type="DVN:TOU" level="dv"><a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0">CC BY 4.0</a></notes></dataAccs><othrStdyMat/></stdyDscr><otherMat ID="f13973" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/13973" level="datafile"><labl>01_Readme.txt</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">text/plain</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f10401" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/10401" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertCisternPoolReservoir.gml</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/gml+xml</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f9338" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/9338" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertCisternPoolReservoir.kml</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f10402" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/10402" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertMajorWells.gml</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/gml+xml</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f10399" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/10399" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertMajorWells.kml</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f10400" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/10400" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertMinorWells.gml</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/gml+xml</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f9339" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/9339" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertMinorWells.kml</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f13972" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/13972" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertSprings.gml</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/gml+xml</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f9340" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/9340" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertSprings.kml</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/vnd.google-earth.kml+xml</notes></otherMat><otherMat ID="f10337" URI="https://dataverse.no/api/access/datafile/10337" level="datafile"><labl>SyrianDesertWaterSources.pdf</labl><notes level="file" type="DATAVERSE:CONTENTTYPE" subject="Content/MIME Type">application/pdf</notes></otherMat></codeBook>
