Description
| This dataset contains replication data for "Evidence of Arctic methane emissions across the mid-Pleistocene". In particular, the data used and produced in the paper are listed below: Table S1: Sediment samples from ODP Hole 912A utilized in this study for all the analyses performed (age model, benthic foraminifera analyses, microscopic and spectroscopic analyses of benthic foraminifera tests, stable isotopic data of planktonic and benthic foraminiferal species, biomarkers), sulphur, and ice rafted debris counting. Details can be found in Myhre et al., 1995 Proceedings of the Ocean Drilling program." Table S2. Age model of ODP Hole 912A. The principal reference for the magnetostratigraphy is Myhre et al. (1995). Ages for magnetic chron boundaries are derived from Lourens et al. (2005). Abbreviations are: mbsf = meter below seafloor. Ma = million years ago. LSR = Linear sedimentation rate Table S3. Carbon stable isotopes measured in planktonic (Neogloboquadrina pachyderma and N. atlantica) and benthic foraminifera (Cassidulina teretis-neoteretis, C. reniforme, Melonis barleeanus, Fursenkoina cf. acuta, and Stainforthis feylingi) in ODP Hole 912A. The analytical precision for these carbon measurements was estimated to be better than +0.03 ppm by measuring the certified standard NBS-19. We report all isotope results in standard delta notation relative to Vienna Pee Dee Belemnite (VPDB) Table S4. Concentrations of selected AOM-related biomarkers of archaea (archaeol) and sulphate-reducing bacteria (iso (i-) and anteiso (ai-)-C15:0 fatty acids in ODP Hole 912A. delta13C stable isotopes of Archaeol (with the respective amount of sediment samples expressed in g) measured are also indicate Table S5 - Total sulfur (TS) measured in samples from ODP Hole 912A Table S6. Ice-rafted debris (IRD; size fraction 500-1000 µm) counted in samples from ODP Hole 912A Table S7. Dropstones (Number per core) counted during the Ocean Drilling Program expedition (Myhre, A., et al. (1995). Proceedings of the Ocean Drilling Program. Initial Reports, College Station TX) (2022-04-21) |
